The Theory of Knowledge—a core element of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme—is a course in epistemology and practical philosophy. By examining short texts (including but not limited to local and world issues, philosophy, history and its perspectives, and scientific research) and the knowledge issues they contain and inspire, you will gain the skills necessary to analyze knowledge claims, their underlying assumptions, and their implications.

Prose and Cons
Having now honed your TOK essay assessment skills, and thus internalized the project's criteria, let's put those skills to use. For Tuesday's class, please outline an essay on one of the May 2013 Prescribed Titles (a copy is in your mailbox). Remember to consider several areas of knowledge, use the title exactly as it appears, derive KQs from the title and its implications, consider your position as a knower and contrary positions; in short, use the rubrics.
